An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until May 18, 2016
Designed to help grieving participants process the intense emotional suffering associated with the loss of a loved one. Myths and misunderstanding of the grieving process will be discussed. Strategies for coping with the normal emotional and physical effects of grief such as loss, anger, emptiness, depression, and exhaustion will help restore your stability and aid in recovery as you start to heal.

ABOUT THE LEADER
Marlene Rankin, PhD
Marlene Rankin PhD has over 30 plus years of clinical and academic experience in psychiatric mental health nursing with numerous faculty positions including Clinical Professor and Specialty Director of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Rutgers University from 1992-2012, Assistant Professor at the College of New Jersey 1989-90, and University of Pittsburgh 1985-1989. Dr. Rankin is nationally board certified by ANCC as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She graduated in nursing from Penn State, received a MS from Johns Hopkins University, a PhD in Nursing Research from Texas Women’s University, completed post-doctoral work in biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health and a post masters’ degree from Rutgers as a family psychiatric nurse practitioner. For over 30 years she maintained a private clinical practice focusing on mood disorders, eating disorders, and couples and family therapy.
