Coping with Cancer: Four Dimensions of the Human Experience

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Cancer is not just a physical disease. It impacts the life of the whole person and affects all of our relationships. We will explore the four dimensions of the human experience, the impact a cancer diagnosis can have for both patient and family in these dimensions, and coping skills that help us learn to live with and beyond cancer.
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL ATTENDEES PRIOR TO THE EVENT. Check in will begin 15 minutes prior to the program beginning. Due to video filming, late attendees will be asked to view the presentation in the Green Room.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
An ordained minister through the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), The Reverend Dr. Tommy Thompson has spent over 30 years in fulltime pastoral ministry, serving congregations in both the Houston and Dallas areas. He earned his Master of Divinity School at Texas Christian University in 1987 and in May 2006, he received a Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He currently serves as Senior Minister of Bethany Christian Church. His vision for this congregation is to be an outpost of hope and healing for body, mind and spirit-grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He recently served for eight years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CanCare, Inc. where he collaborated to create and implement innovative new programs, services and training for both medical/clinical/administrative professionals and the patients they served. Throughout his life and career as a minister and a non-profit executive, Dr. Thompson has found ways of utilizing his gifts and skills to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
