Empowered To Connect (ETC) Parent Training, developed by Michael & Amy Monroe, relies heavily on the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and her colleagues at the TCU Institute of Child Development. ETC Parent Training equips parents an understanding of their child’s needs while empowering them with the tools and strategies to effectively meet those needs. The training is taught from a Christian perspective and focuses on a wide range of topics and issues relevant to adoptive and foster parents. Trained Empowered to Connect (ETC) leaders, Amy and Stephen Bezecny are committed to sharing the ETC insights and skills that have been an essential part of understanding and parenting their own child, adopted at 2 years of age. They believe that the ETC materials allowed them to have a deeper connected relationship with their child.
